East Ireland

A short break to the Emerald country. We chose for the very nice B&B Pinewood lodge very next to Wicklow Mountains national park, a place of absolute rest and stunning landscapes. We visited Dublin where the Trinity college library was impressive and drove up to Howth for enjoying dinner with beautiful sea view and sunset in restaurant Aqua. The next day we headed for a walk in the Wicklow Mountains national park, a circular walk of just 17 km starting from the visitor centre at Glendalough is enough to realize that this mountain range, although low, has a great diversity and offers amazing views. Unfortunately our trip was too short to explore more of this national park or even better hike the Wicklow Way Trail. The third day we went for the seaside at the desolate but superb Curracloe beach (Wexford County). A white sandy beach stretching over about 11 unspoiled kilometers and bordered by Raven nature reserve and the salt marshlands of River Slaney. The last day, on our way back to the airport, we visited the high rated Powerscourt Gardens that offer a beautiful view on the Wicklow Mountains.
